Reception 2023:

Forming relationships with parents, children and teachers is key to a seamless transition and a positive start to primary school. Furthermore, children feel much more confident and excited about starting school if they know their new environment. Accordingly, we invite you and your child to our transition sessions. Each session has a different focus, so it is important to attend all the dates outlined below.

  1. Wednesday 21st June 2023, 9.30am – 11:00am: Stay and Play/Meet the Teachers Event. This session is for parents and children.

This is an opportunity to meet the Reception teachers, teaching assistants while exploring the new learning environment. The teachers use this session to get to know the children, and subsequently allocate which class each child will be in. This session will be held in school.

  1. Wednesday 5th July 2023, 9.30am – 11:00am: Settle-In Session. This session is for parents and children.

In this session, your child will experience a typical lesson with their peers and their allocated teacher while parents learn more about our curricula. At the end of this session, you will be given a transition booklet which will name your child’s class teacher. This session will be held in school.
